The Special Operations team has been carrying out work on Middel Street, in between Melk Street and Veale Street this past week. Work will continue this coming week from Monday 15 JUN ’26 to Wednesday 17 JUN ’26 focusing on Veale Street and Fehrsen Street in Nieuw Muckleneuk. A larger loading truck has been assigned to assist with carrying away the off-cuts.
The Special Operations team will finish additional smaller streets in Nieuw Muckleneuk before shifting focus to Brooklyn and Hatfield.
The Electricity Department has confirmed that Phase 1 trimming will commence within the next two weeks, focusing on the highest-risk zones identified during inspection. Brooklyn will form part of the initial intervention cluster, with Hatfield scheduled immediately thereafter.
Residents may notice temporary lane closures during trimming operations. A detailed schedule will be shared once finalised.
A joint site inspection was conducted this week with representatives from the Electricity and Parks Departments to assess high-risk trees identified by residents. Several priority locations in Brooklyn and Hatfield were inspected.
