Petition to trim trees interfering with overhead power lines in Brooklyn, Ward 56.

RESIDENTS OF BROOKLYN, WARD 56, PETITION THE CITY OF TSHWANE METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY.

We, the undersigned, demand that the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality act on behalf of its residents and ratepayers and provide urgent intervention to attend to the backlog of trees requiring trimming in Brooklyn that interfere with overhead power lines.

The community of Brooklyn has submitted a list of 400+ reference numbers of trees that interfere with power lines. Such interferences result in frequent power outages, damage to power lines and City infrastructure, which often takes an average of 4 days to repair and restore power to the community, causing significant disruptions and having a direct negative impact on the quality of life in Brooklyn.

The residents of Brooklyn petition the municipality to capacitate the necessary departments to enact preventative maintenance in order to reduce power outages in the area caused by overgrown trees.
